Learn More about FDM Printing
This page is for learning and understanding how FDM printing works.
What is FDM printing?
used Deposition Modeling (FDM) isa 3D printing process that uses a thermoplastic filament to create three-dimensional objects
How dose it work?
- A computer-aided design (CAD) file is converted into a format that the 3D printer can understand.Â
- TFDM builds parts layer by layer by selectively depositing melted material in a predetermined path. It uses thermoplastic polymers that come in filaments to form the final physical objects.Â
- The print head moves along the build plate, drawing each layer of the object.Â
- Once the object is printed, the support material is removed.Â
What is Filament
Plastic filament isa thermoplastic material used in 3D printers to create objects layer by layer .It's a continuous, slender thread of plastic that's usually spooled onto a reel for storage and feeding.
