Learn More About Resin Printing
This page is about the resin printing process
What is Resin Printing
Resin 3D printing isa type of additive manufacturing that uses liquid resin to create 3D objects. It's also known as vat photopolymerization or stereolithography (SLA)
How Dose it work?
1. Resin vat The printer holds a vat of liquid resin that is photosensitive to ultraviolet (UV) light.Â
2. UV light A UV laser or light source is used to solidify the resin in a layer-by-layer process. The laser spot size determines the layer height.Â
Cleaning
Cleaning the prints that come off the Printer is a multi stage process
- Remove the models from the build plate.
- Remove the supports
- Wash the models in either water or isopropyl alcohol depending on the resin used.
- allow to dry for 24-48 hours.
Curing the Model
After the model has had enough time to dry off after the cleaning process the model goes into a UV curing machine for 5-10 minutes to cure the resin making it safe to handle and hardening the resin. after this the model is ready to ship.
